  • A walk through a real screening report
  • Your first month of screenings, free

How it works

Three steps to your first free report.

Fifteen minutes on a call, then your applicant does the rest.

  1. A paper laptop with a blank screen, ready for the call.

    Book a 15-minute call

Pick any open time in Charley's calendar. There's nothing to prepare.

  2. A paper phone sending a paper envelope: the screening link going to your applicant.

    Charley sets up your account

On the call, Charley sets up your account with you and you send your first applicant their screening link.

  3. An opened paper envelope holding a report with ticked rows: the finished report.

    Get your report by email

Reports usually arrive within minutes of your applicant finishing. Your first month is free, with no cap.

In the report

What every screening checks

Identity, credit and consent in every report. Complete adds the international checks.

  • A paper ID card with a photo and name lines.
    In every report

ID verification with a live selfie

Your applicant photographs their government ID and takes a live selfie, matched to the photo on the ID.

  • A paper credit report with a score gauge.
    In every report

    Equifax Canada credit history

The credit file comes straight from Equifax Canada, not from a document the applicant uploads.

  • A signed paper form with a pen and a house key beside it: consent given.
    In every report

    Consent built in

Your applicant consents to the checks in the screening flow, before anything runs.

  • A paper globe on a stand.
    Complete and up

    Watchlist and adverse media

Global watchlist and adverse media checks, on Complete and Priority Complete.

Why landlords switch

A convincing application isn't the same as a verified one.

Fake pay stubs and borrowed IDs are increasingly common in rental applications, and a well-made fake looks just like the real thing. ID with a live selfie, plus a credit file straight from the bureau, makes both much harder to fake.

  • The person is checked, not just the document

A borrowed or doctored ID has to get past a live selfie taken on the applicant's own phone. That makes it much harder to pass off.

  • Credit comes from the bureau, not the applicant

The Equifax Canada file is pulled at the source, so it can't be edited the way a PDF pay stub can.

Who pays: you or your applicant. You choose for each applicant.

After we lost integrated screening in our property management system, The Great Folks built a direct integration into our existing account in a few weeks. Applicants are screened automatically, reports land back in our system, and our team stopped re-keying data. Fixed price, no new fees, and no change to how we work.

Got questions?

Before you book

Is it really free?

Yes. New business customers get 30 days of unlimited Essential screenings, starting from the setup call. There's no cap on how many you run, and it's one free month per company.

Do I need a subscription?

No. After your free month you pay per report, with no subscription and no monthly fee.

Who pays, me or the applicant?

Either. You choose for each applicant.

How fast are results?

Usually within minutes of your applicant completing verification. The report arrives by email.

Is this compliant?

Every check needs your applicant's consent, and it's collected in the screening flow itself.

Which provinces do you cover?

All of Canada. We also have screening guides for Ontario, BC, Alberta and Quebec.

I only screen once in a while. Is this for me?

Probably not the setup call. Quickscreen is built for that: no call needed, and you pay per report.
