The Great Renter vs. SingleKey

SingleKey lists nine products, from rent guarantee insurance to tenant insurance to rent collection. We sell one: the tenant screening report. That focus is why there's no account to create, no portal to log into, and nothing to subscribe to. Every SingleKey claim below is cited to their own site.

In fairness to SingleKey: its report bundles income and employment verification and an eviction search, which ours doesn't. If you need those inside the report itself, that's a real reason to pick them. The rest of this page is about what happens around the report.

Why it feels different

One product, done properly.

Everything else on this page follows from that.

We only do tenant screening

No insurance, no rent collection, no lease tools, no side products. The whole company is built around getting one report right. SingleKey lists nine, and its portal is the hub that sells them.

No account, because there's nothing to lock you into

A portal exists to keep you coming back for the next product. We don't have a next product. Your applicant verifies themselves through a secure link, and the report lands in your inbox.

No subscription, because we don't need one

You pay for the report you need, from $19.99, and that's the end of it. No membership tier, no annual plan, no recurring percentage of anyone's rent.

One report, from $19.99. No account, no subscription, and a money-back guarantee of up to $50 if it's not what you needed.

Got questions?

SingleKey comparison, answered

Why does The Great Renter only do tenant screening?

Because the report is the product. SingleKey lists nine products, from Rent Guarantee insurance to rent collection to tenant insurance, and its account portal is the hub that ties them together. We don't have a portfolio to sell you into, so there's no account to create, no portal to log into, and no subscription. Every bit of the company goes into one screening report.

Is SingleKey more expensive than The Great Renter?

At the entry level, yes: SingleKey's cheapest report is $29.99, and The Great Renter's Essential report is $19.99. At the top, SingleKey's dual-bureau report is $44.99 and our Priority Complete is $38.99. The two reports don't check exactly the same things, though: SingleKey bundles income and employment verification and an eviction search that we don't, so compare the contents alongside the price.

Does SingleKey require a subscription?

Not for the screening report itself, which is pay-per-report like ours. SingleKey does sell Rent Guarantee alongside it, an ongoing product priced as a recurring percentage of rent. The Great Renter has no recurring product of any kind.

Do I need to create an account to screen a tenant with The Great Renter?

No. Your applicant gets a secure link, verifies their own identity, and the report lands in your inbox. SingleKey delivers its report into your SingleKey portal, which means signing up for an account first.

What does SingleKey's report include that yours doesn't?

Income and employment verification, and an eviction history and public record search. Our report focuses on identity verification, Equifax credit data, global watchlist screening, and adverse media. If you specifically need income verification bundled into the report, SingleKey includes it.
